i’ve always believed i was born in the wrong generation. i watch movies and listen to music YOUR parents love. Dirty Dancing, Flashdance, Streets of Fire etc.
and ROXETTE. gosh. i really love them so much. all time favourite music ever.
sure i grew up listening to music from my generation like Britney and BSB. and i do love some bands that sit on the extreme end of the genre spectrum from Roxette. especially Dream Theater, 30STM and Muse. and even Marilyn Manson (my husband). but when i play Roxette songs, i get lost in my own beautiful world, that i even forget any other music exist besides Roxette.
Per and Marie both have such mesmerising voices even til now when they are much older. and i’ve always had a MAJOR crush on Per. <3
i wished Marie kept her hair long like during Pearls of Passion. but i guess ever since the tumor she kept a short, sometimes almost bald do. Per, however, - love him any hairstyle.
ohhh how i just love Roxette.
ps; prepare for the hoard of Roxette spam coming your way. (:
I had landed a job as an apprentice chef in a little resort in New York State. The resort itself was pretty messy, but let me tell you something for nothing, the dancing there was positively dirty! I had seen some radical moves in my time like the twist and the conga but boy, their dances were something else.
Every night as I worked in the basement kitchen, the resort workers (like redcoats but not as shit) would spend the evening dancing away. They did the shag, the hand-job, the felch, the bum boogie, the arse candy – you name it they did it! I digress, yet ironically set the scene.
At the time I was working under a radical young chef named Heston Blumenthal who was obsessed with making crazy food.
One day he told me that I’d be making the evening meal for the staff. Main course was to be a braised dish of bees and the starter was to be a fruit curry! I joked of the main course, “but Heston, why that’s insecticide!” to which he replied, “It’s not. Insecticide is a pesticide used against insects in all developmental forms and include ovicides and larvicides used against the eggs and larvae of insects respectively.”
Bald-headed buffoon I thought as I buttered the pan for the bees and thought it again as I chopped the fruit for the fruit curry starter.
When the evening came and I was to serve my dish, disaster struck!
I had finished cooking my main course but as there was no room left on the kitchen workspace, I had to pop it on the floor by the oven. Then just as i was adding some coriander to my pan of fruit, fresh from doing the arse candy, the coolest dancer and biggest cleanliness freak in the resort stormed in.
“What the hell have you just done?” he said pointing to my pan.
“I curried a watermelon,” I said.
“What! And what the hell is that dish doing down there?” he said pointing to the main course.
“Oh, that’s tonight’s main dish,” I said, “Braised bee”
Outraged, he screamed, “Nobody puts braised bee in the corner!”
“Me? I’m scared of everything. I’m scared of what I saw, I’m scared of what I did, of who I am, and most of all I’m scared of walking out of this room and never feeling the rest of my whole life the way I feel when I’m with you.”—Baby (Jennifer Grey)
THANK YOU to everyone who texted/walled/spammed me with good luck wishes. i may have not done exceptionally well, but i have a positive outlook in life (as written on my SGC). so i’m moving forward with optimism. and to all my classmates and friends, all the best in your future endeavours! <3
Won’t be updating this space this late. My heart is broken, I need to clear my head.
my dear sweetheart. you managed to make my day with your lovely advice for my big day tmr. i thank you. but seeing you down is no good. the HDB thing can change, no worries. when many people write in to demand a change, the government will meet the needs of the people. besides, my dad says that they had this “law” for quite awhile now but no one really took any real actions. (it’s just tin kosong. wait is that the right peribahasa?) but animal abuse is difficult. you and i know that things like this require individual effort. the most authorities can do is impose fines and laws. the only way it can be stopped is if education reaches this people and they themselves must show humanity. if even after this, nothing is changed. all we can do is save what we can. and know that these people will get what they deserve when their time comes and god decides their fate. so cheer up, darling. <3
